So, last weekend Philip and I went to Louisiana for Mardi Gras. I haven't been since I was in my early 20's, and Rachel, Ryq and I went a few years in a row.
It was a FABULOUS trip!
Well, it did rain the entire 8 hour drive there... but I had new tires, so it wasn't as bad as I could have been if we were ridin' on my old baldies.
It snowed the first morning, which was pretty exciting (especially because it didn't stay - heh) We hung out with family & friends & went to the Hammond parade that night. It was 32 degrees!! SO. COLD.
Saturday, we went into New Orleans for the Endymion parade. Philip's friend lives 4 blocks from the parade route, so we got super swanky parking. The floats were AMAZING. I was SOBER. It was fantastically fun!
Sunday, we went to the Tour Tchefuncte parade in Madisonville. It was a boat parade! I'd never been to one before. It was really fun - another small-town parade. Those bead-tossers had some VELOCITY, though! I thought I was going to get a concussion!
We drove back on Monday (I think 7 of those 8 hours were spent driving through Houston), and I don't think I've ever seen more excited dogs in my life!!
