It's Over

Tribal Fest '09 is over. We're in the van, heading toward Eugene; we'll stay overnight somewhere between here and there.
I am completely exhausted and ready to be home with Philip. My brain is saturated, and all I want to do is curl up with him and sleep.
I took a Fosse fusion class and discovered that I don't really like jazz. Patricia Passo's Flamenco class, however, was absolutely amazing. The raw passion of folk (as opposed to classical) Flamenco is overwhelming, and Flamenco arms and hand gestures are some of the most beautiful in the world.
Today was the most grueling. I had workshops from 11 - 5:30. Thankfully, the first two involved a lot of talking.
I took a workshop with Lee Ali - Dancing with Live Music. That was one of the best of the fest. She gave us so much information; things that will help me both in regular dancing, and dancing to a live band.
Several from my group ended our weekend with Samantha Riggs' Banghra Meets Bollywood. She didn't waste any time getting us moving! We learned a short choreography, and the class was every bit as energetic, challenging and fun as I thought it would be.
And now....to try to absorb and remember it all. This weekend has both inspired me to achieve more, and reminded me of how far I still have to go as a dancer.
